Born in Kirkuk in 1975, Selim Bayraktar is a graduate of the Acting Department of the Ankara State Conservatory of Hacettepe University. He played in theater plays such as “Othello”, “Sırça Kümesi (The Glass Menagerie)” and “Bay Kolpert (Mr. Kolpert)” at the Antalya State Theater. For the first time on television in 2006, he starred in the series “Köprü”. He reached a wide audience with the character of Sümbül Ağa in the ”Muhteşem Yüzyıl (Magnificent Century)". He displayed successful performances both in cinema and TV productions. His performance in the first ever Turkish co-production of Netflix series ''Rise of Empires: Ottoman'' was highly praised. Due to his interest in the field of Art, Sports and Music, he also conducts projects in these areas.
