Sedef Avcı, born in 1982, graduated from the Department of Labor Economics at Kocaeli University. After performing with the Mahşeri Cümbüş troupe, she attended workshops led by Anthony Vincent Bova at the Actors Studio in New York. In 1997, she won the Elite Model Look Turkey contest, and in 2001, she became the second runner-up in the Miss Turkey competition, representing Turkey at the Miss Universe pageant. She gained attention in 2007 for her leading role in the TV series Menekşe ile Halil and later reached wider audiences with her role in Ezel. Avcı also stood out in historical TV series such as Mehmed: Bir Cihan Fatihi and Payitaht: Abdülhamid. Most recently, she starred in Çöp Adam. Sedef Avcı is married to actor Kıvanç Kasabalı, and they have a son together.
